Didactics and Additional Learning Opportunities
Didactics
Didactics are held every Wednesday afternoon as protected time for residents. Each week a different subject is presented in an interactive way by residents and faculty using journal articles, board-style questions, hands-on skills and guest lecturers.
Trinity Health has a Sim Lab available with anatomic models and interactive Manikins. This space allows us to have regular skills-based didactics including OMT, outpatient procedures, obstetric skills, POCUS, etc.
The Curriculum Committee, made up of faculty and residents, regularly meets to review the topic schedule to ensure a timely and comprehensive review of the broad spectrum of Family Medicine.
Additional Learning Opportunities
- Continuity Delivery: Residents provide all prenatal care and assist in the delivery of clinic newborns.
- Sports Medicine Sideline Care: Residents have the opportunity to provide sideline and acute medical care for USHL Lumberjacks and local high school football players. Care is supervised by our Sports Medicine Fellowship trained Core Faculty.

This option includes additional OB electives, completion of formal electronic fetal monitoring program certification, participation in shoulder dystocia/postpartum hemorrhage drills, and an opportunity for additional deliveries.
